For those coming to Tanzania specifically for safari, a 5 day itinerary is a popular choice. The parks most frequently visited in this period have become known as 'The Northern Circuit' and is one of the most popular safari routes.

You will start your safari in Tarangire National Park, known as the home of elephants.

Day two will be spent exploring Lake Manyara - if you are lucky you may see lions relaxing in the tree tops!

The next two days will be spent in the vast Serengeti, where you are highly likely to see four of the big five if you haven't already.

On your final day, you will descend into Ngorongoro Crater, the only park in the northern circuit to see black rhino, as well as many other herbivores and carnivores.

This itinerary gives a great opportunity not only to see the huge range of animals in Tanzania's parks, but also the great variation in habitat each park offers.
