NATIONAL PARKS

Over 35% of Tanzania is dedicated to National Parks, and it is home to the largest concentration of animals per square kilometre in the world. The first established National Park was the Serengeti in 1951, and there is now a total of 16 national parks throughout Tanzania.

As well as it's famous tree climbing lions and huge baboon troops, Lake Manyara also offers an abundance of water birds - perfect for any budding ornithologists!

Located close to Ol Doinyo Lengai, an active volcano sacred to the Maasai, this soda lake is the annual breeding ground for over 2 million Lesser Flamingoes.
