Those who enjoy hiking in beautiful natural surroundings

- Lunch at the starting point

Choose to hike from Arusha town (approx. 2 hours) or drive to the starting point located at the base of Mount Meru. You will then walk for approximately 1 hour through forest before descending a steep slope towards the waterfalls.

You will see huge ebony trees and might be lucky enough to see monkeys in the treetops. You will then walk upstream, climbing the large boulders in the riverbed, before seeing Sapuku waterfall appear before you.

Once at the waterfall, it is possible to stand directly beneath the water – a great photo opportunity, although a little cold! When you are ready, you will return to the starting point where you can enjoy a cold drink and perhaps something to eat.

You don't need to be super fit to do this hike, but we would recommend only those with good mobility attempt it. Local people can assist you with climbing and carrying bags but we recommend tipping them if you accept their help as it is not included in our service.

Please note there will be an additional charge for vehicle hire if choosing to drive to the starting point.
